About Lance


Lance Merrell graduated from Utah Valley University in 2016 with a Bachelors degree in Political Science and a minor in Constitutional Studies. A Presidential Scholar at UVU, Lance was on the Dean’s list every semester while at UVU. During his time at UVU, Lance spent a year and a half at the Center for Constitutional Studies, where he assisted with research and presentations on a variety of topics including: federalism, the power of the executive, and religious liberty. He also ran the Center's YouTube live streaming of events, as well as their advertising. Lance also helped pioneer the Center's partnership with Oxford University, helping to launch Oxford's Quill Project to the public.

Lance was also a member of the UVU track and field team, helping his team win a conference title in 2012. Lance is also currently a volunteer track coach at Maple Mountain High School. Lance served a two-year LDS mission in Portland, Oregon. Lance has applied to a number of graduate school programs and has a few scholarship opportunities., Lance currently works for the Office of New Urban Mechanics, a local civic innovation office, where he is working on a free online civic engagement course for the community, as well as organizing a civic innovation scholarship contest.

Lance started a recycling business that grew to service about 10% of the town of Mapleton in Utah.

He and his brothers ran that business for 12 years, before selling it. Lance runs 3 YouTube Channels: Constitution Guru, Jump Master, and his own personal channel.

Lance is happily married to the love of his life, Michelle Merrell. They have been married for over a year, love being outside, going on cruises, and living life as an adventure.
